The last time I went camping in a tent was when I was a boy scout, and the last time I was on any sort of campsite was as a teenager on a family caravan holiday. So, I can't claim any expertise in this area. What I can do, however, is research how easy it is to get from various campsites to the centre of what were the Euro 2024 host cities. And that is what I've done.
The sites listed below are all within 60 minutes of the host city main station and/or stadium. And that's by public transport, as I've assumed that you'll not want to drive to the stadium on a matchday.
The two sites I've used for my research are Eurocampings.co.uk and Camping.info.
Here's what I found:

Potentially cheaper group-stage bases
For the group stage, it may work out cheaper to base yourself in a central spot away from any of the host cities. I suggest looking at the Würzburg area for Group A, at Hannover and environs for Group B, Group D and Group F, and at sites around Mannheim for Group C and Group E.
