BayArena
Bayer's football ground has been situated in the current location since 1958. Following rebuilds in 1986 and 2008, the current stadium has a capacity of just over 30,000.
One end of the ground is dominated by a wall of hospitality boxes, giving the interior of the 'arena' a somewhat unusual, almost American look.
Getting there
The BayArena is situated right next to a major Autobahn intersection (the A1 and A3). However, there is very little parking available close to the ground. The club therefore provides a free shuttle bus service from a large Bayer AG car park, the 'Parkplatz Kurtekotten' on Otto-Bayer-Strasse. The bus journey time from there is 9 minutes. Getting to the ground by rail could hardly be easier. From Leverkusen Mitte station it's a 15-minute walk through a park and along a tree-lined road.
Depending on the length of your planned stay in the city/Germany, it might be worth you getting a Deutschlandticket for unlimited use of local and regional public transport throughout the country. Otherwise, take a look at regional offers available on the VRS website and, for trains only, see offers on the Deutsche Bahn and FlixTrain (/FlixBus) sites.
If you're flying in for the game, the airport you're most likely to be using will be Cologne-Bonn, Düsseldorf or Weeze.
