The Rhein-Neckar Arena (or whatever it's sponsored name is this year) is a modern, bowl-type stadium surrounded by the asphalt of car parks and the A6 motorway. Despite being the home stadium of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim it is located not in the small Sinsheim suburb of Hoffenheim, but rather on the edge of Sinsheim town centre.
The stadium was built to replace the Dietmar Hopp Stadion in Hoffenheim itself, which had been opened in 1999, but become too small for the club as it stormed up the leagues thanks to Hopp's financial backing. Hopp also funded and owns the new stadium.
Opened in 2009, it has a capacity of just over 30,000. The 'home end' is the South Stand. Away fans are housed in a corner section (fitted with rail seats) at the other end of the ground.
Getting there from the town centre
The main station in the town is Sinsheim (Elsenz) Hbf. From there you can take a 2-minute ride on the S5 light rail service, get off at Sinsheim Museum/Arena, and then walk 15 minutes to the ground.
Alternatively, on matchdays there are shuttle buses to the ground from the main station.
Depending on the length of your planned stay in the city/Germany, it might be worth you getting a Deutschlandticket for unlimited use of local and regional public transport throughout the country.
If coming by car, the sat-nav address is 'Dietmar Hopp Str. 1, 74889 Sinsheim'. The club recommends that away fans park in car park P15 (by the 'Auto und Technik' museum).
If you are flying in, the airport you are most likely to use is Stuttgart (STR).
